ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of English at Balurghat College emphasizes life-oriented, value-based education&nbsp;aiming at nurturing socially conscious, culturally harmonious leaders. Key facets include:

The Honours (Major) in English&nbsp;is open to approximately 200 + students per academic session. The large intake capacity across general and reserved categories is aimed towards proving learning opportunities to a large number of students. Affiliated to the University of Gour Banga, the department operates within a rigorous curriculum framework that aligns with the University&rsquo;s liberal education model.
